Need a hand? Most questions about Srvd are answered below. If you need more help, reach out through the support channel inside the Service or contact your organization administrator.
Getting started
I received an invite email but I can't sign in.
Invitation emails contain a one-time sign-in link that creates your Srvd account. If the link has expired or you can't find the email, ask your organization administrator to re-send your invite.
How do I set my volunteer preferences?
Open your profile (the avatar in the top corner of the sidebar) and choose Preferences. From there you can pick the events you're willing to serve, the roles you're trained for, your spoken languages, and any time-off windows. The auto-scheduler uses all of these to decide where to place you.
Scheduling & assignments
Where do I see my schedule?
The My Scheduletab shows every upcoming assignment you've been given (and any in your linked household). The schedule only appears once your administrator publishes the period — drafts stay hidden until then.
What does "Schedule with my family" do?
When two members of the same household both have the toggle on, the auto-scheduler will try to place them on the same Mass so the household serves together. You can change the toggle from the Edit Preferences drawer.
How do I claim an open role?
On the team Schedule tab, any role that hasn't been filled shows a Volunteerbutton. Click it and you'll be assigned on the spot — provided the role matches one of your approved roles and you don't already have a conflicting assignment for that event.
Substitutions
How do I request a sub?
On your My Schedule row, tap Request sub. The slot opens up immediately on the team Schedule and goes to the parish Sub Board where another volunteer can pick it up. You'll be notified the moment someone claims it.
I requested a sub by mistake.
Reach out to your organization administrator — they can cancel the sub request if nobody has claimed it yet.
Family & households
What is a household?
A household links related volunteers together — parents, spouses, and kids — so any logged-in adult sees the whole family's schedule and can act on a kid's slot (for example, requesting a sub). Households are managed by your administrator from the Family tab on each volunteer's profile.
Both my spouse and I are volunteers — how do we link?
Ask your administrator to open one of your volunteer profiles, go to the Family tab, and use Link to family to pick the other spouse. Both of your kids (and any other linked members) come along automatically.
Notifications & languages
I'm getting too many emails / texts.
Open Settings → Notificationson your profile and toggle the channels you want for each notification type. App notifications stay on regardless so you don't miss critical updates.
Why are events showing in the wrong time zone?
All event times follow the organization's configured time zone, not the viewer's device clock. If the time looks wrong, your administrator can update the timezone under Settings → Org Profile.
Privacy & security
For details on what we collect and how it's handled, see the Privacy & Legal page. To report a security concern, contact your organization administrator.
Still stuck?
If your question isn't covered here, the fastest path is to message your organization administrator — they have admin tools that can resolve most issues directly (resending invites, fixing assignments, cancelling sub requests, merging family members). For everything else, use the in-Service support channel.
